Who we are
Our website address is: https://kanyanawebservices.com
Kanyana Web Services is a web design and hosting agency. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. You can review the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.
Contact forms and enquiries
If you submit an enquiry through our contact form, we collect the information you provide (such as your name, email address, phone number, and project details) so we can respond to your request. We do not use this information for marketing purposes unless you separately opt in, and we do not sell or rent this information to third parties.
Client and project data
If you become a client, we may collect and store additional information necessary to deliver our services — for example, business details, website content, login credentials for third-party platforms (hosting, domain registrars, payment processors), and billing information. This data is used solely to build, host, and maintain your website or provide the services you’ve engaged us for, and is retained for as long as necessary to support your project or as required by law.
Web hosting services
If you use our hosting services, we store the data necessary to operate your hosting account, including domain and server configuration details, backups, and technical logs (e.g. uptime, error logs) used for maintenance and security purposes. We do not access the content of hosted sites beyond what is required for support, maintenance, or troubleshooting you’ve requested.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes your login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data — it simply stores the post ID of the article you edited, and expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited that other website directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content — including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that site.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.
Where necessary to deliver our services, we may share client data with trusted third-party providers (e.g. hosting infrastructure, domain registrars, payment processors) strictly for the purpose of fulfilling our contract with you. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, so we can recognize and automatically approve follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered users (if applicable), we store the personal information provided in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except their username. Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
For clients, we retain project-related data for as long as needed to support your website or hosting service, or as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes after our engagement ends.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including anything you’ve provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This doesn’t include data we’re obliged to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
To make a request, contact us at [email protected].
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Client and hosting data may be stored with third-party infrastructure providers (e.g. cloud hosting, backup services) as required to deliver our services.
